Beef Barley Lentil Soup

Ingredients
  • 1pound ground beef
  • 1small onion, diced
  • 1potato diced(boil for 4 minutes and let cool)
  • 2ribs celery, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1/2cup dry lentils
  • 1/4cup pearl barley
  • 214.5 ounce cans of stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2teaspoon salt
  • 1/2teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 32ounces beef broth(not needed until ready to cook)
  • 2 cups water(not need until ready to cook)
Instructions
  1. Brown onion and ground beef in a skillet. Let cool.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a ziplock bag and freeze.

Write on bag:  Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
