If you’ve been following along my 31 days of upcycled holiday decor, you probably noticed I’ve been MIA for a couple of days. But, I’m back, and I’ll be sure to post a few extra days in November so I can still reach my goal of creating 31 holiday decor items from old items!
I’m excited to add this post to a Home for Fall blog hop with all of my fellow Hometalk bloggers!! When you are finished reading this post, you definitely need to check out all the other amazing ideas shared. I am inspired on a daily basis by so many of these creative bloggers.
This project describes my DIY philosophy – use what you’ve got to create something new. I have a problem with cleaning up my work areas, and my work table in my garage is one of the worst. This is embarrassing…
Although it’s a huge mess, it made this project even easier, because all the wood was strewn across the table, and I could just look, reach, and cut.
It was so fun to piece together pieces of barn wood, siding, bead board, oak, and hickory left over from other projects. I painted a couple of the pieces with an orange wash, but otherwise kept the pieces as-is based on the project they were used for. I simply used wood glue to attach the pieces together.
For the stems, I cut a piece of dowel rod at a slight angle (it was already teal, I just painted the top white because that was the only part that would be seen). Then, I used hot glue to attach twine as I wrapped it around the rod.
I love these, and I especially love that it was another free project created with “leftovers”. Expect to see some Christmas trees soon…

Thanks so much for sharing, Angie!
Jenny, I’m so in LOVE. These wood scrap pumpkins are completely adorable! I just love the colours you chose! Right up my rustic, reclaimed wood hoarding alley. 🙂
Haha – you are the queen of scrap wood, right?! Thanks so much for stopping by, and for putting this all together!!
I have so much scrap wood lying around that I need to do this. Great way to use all my scraps. Love it.
It was so much fun to “clean” and work on a project. I’ve already put together a Christmas tree! 🙂

These are adorable! Such an easy inventive idea! I am smitten!!! kim
Thanks so much, Kim! I’ve seen images of scrap wood projects everywhere, but it’s so much to put together your own because every scrap of wood will give a different look, which is what I love!
These pumpkins are so stinking cute, Jenny!! Totally heart them! Thank you so much for joining us at The Creative Circle Link Party, and see you next week 🙂
