If you’re following along with my 31 days of DIY holiday decor posts, you might be asking yourself, “Is this really holiday decor?” Valid question, and the honest answer is probably not. However, I think it could be used with holiday decor (and I just really wanted to post the tutorial on it…and it kinda, sorta fits…)
Now, this definitely fits – it’s my fall/Thanksgiving mantel this year. I think the vintage yellow color of the screen makes it perfect for fall decor.
This was a super easy project. I dyed a couple of the vintage doilies, and kept the rest as is. Then, I simply used a needle and thread to attach each doily in 6-8 places around the edge, tying off knots on the back of the screen.
Seriously, that’s it.
I’ll be creating and posting my repurposed and upcycled holiday decor items for the entire month of October. I hope you follow along and gain some inspiration to create your own DIY holiday items!
